Here's to the daredevils.
There is just something about prohibition-era moxie that really revs our engines, so we're kicking old school again with this beautiful Bordeaux blend from Sonoma County.
While some of you may appreciate our more esoteric riffs on California blends, the truth is our roots and training are in traditional Bordeaux red wines. And when it comes to that task, our crew doesn't fuck around. We go to all the same lengths as the fancy wineries do, with impeccable sourcing, detailed sorting, French oak, and long barrel fermentations that last for weeks (and smell like blueberry pie). Though Napa Valley is perfect for making big, bombastic Bordeaux wines, Sonoma County's cooler climate and Ocean breeze influence tend to lead to more elegant red fruit flavors, which we love.
A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Malbec, 1% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot, Stunt is a core of dark fruit flavor and silky smooth textures. In the glass, rich garnet colors shimmer with every swirl. Soak in the luscious aromas of fresh, dew-covered raspberries and brambles before diving in for your first taste. In your mouth, unctuously silky textures wash over your mouth, carrying delicious flavors of blackberry, Chelan cherries, and vanilla wrapped around soft, integrated tannins. After each sip, your mouth will be left feeling velvety soft.
It's a total throwback to our original wave of wines from the inside out. Which is why we emblazoned Stunt with a photo we've had for over a decade of an old traveling stunt crew sending it Evel Knievel-style at a rural county fair. Some might call that reckless, some may call it stupid, but we think it's a thing of beauty. And honestly, stunt folks don't get enough love. From the old carnival circuit days to the golden age of Hollywood, the people taking the risks never got much of the glory. So Stunt is a big tip of the cap to these heroes.
