Love can be had and lost...but only preserved in dreams.

Few things evoke memories of life and love like Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and we are back to our roots with this romantic and nostalgic Bordeaux blend called Lost Dreams.

While our team loves to push boundaries and experiment, we also love to play the classics. And we play them pretty damn well. Returning to our opening days in 2014, Napa Valley and Bordeaux varieties have been two passions that run deep with us, and having the opportunity to add a new twist to this formula is something we'll never turn down.

For this blend, we went to all the best sources. Comprising 77% of the blend, our Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a combination of Spring Mountain and the shadows of Oak Knoll. The rest of this delicious blend is comprised of 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Syrah, and 4% Cabernet Franc coming from different AVAs within Napa Valley's diverse geography.

Harvested in early October of 2019, these grapes were brought back to our production garage, where the fruit was delicately de-stemmed and sorted to select only the best specimens. A portion of our lot was fermented inside oak barrels and puncheons, while the other part fermented in stainless steel with a three-day cold soak and twice-daily pumpovers. We let the juice sit on the skin for over 30 days to extract color, deep flavor, and tannins before moving the wine to French Oak barrels for 20 months. The Napa Valley method—tried and true. No corners cut, no expense spared.

The wine is everything one can dream of with a Napa Valley red wine. With a dark and lavish ruby color and spellbinding aromas of blackberry pie, raspberry chocolate, and vanilla, this wine pulls you in close with every whiff. Texturally, it has the smooth opulence of a grand piano, and the jazz notes that this wine plays are damn-near perfect. Rich flavors of blackcurrants and cherries caress notes of mocha, cinnamon, and peppery spice. Tannins are equally lush and sexy, leading to a last kiss of a finish that you'll be licking off your lips. This expressive wine exudes bold flavor and will age gracefully as the years pass by.

Which is largely what makes Cabernet Sauvignon such a wonder. In many ways, it is timeless, preserving flavors and terroir for decades, adding wisdom with each passing year. Few wines leave our hearts yearning like Cabernet Sauvignon, which is perhaps why we cherish this variety and hold it with such reverence.

It also leaves us yearning for the timeless, romantic prose of Hemmingway and Kerouac. These authentic depictions of love and loss are honest, harrowing, and heartbreaking. They cut to the core of love and connection in a way we can feel. Even if it hurts. The label for Lost Dreams, lovingly taken from the pulp pages, represents a pastiche of these imperfect writers and ideas, and aims to remind us that love is always just a dream away.
