2017 Young, Wild & Free, Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley

When you're young, everything is fresh, exciting and exhilarating.

Think back to your youth, to a time when you were untamed, charged with reckless decisions and big bright horizons. When, on a whim, you could tell your boss to f*ck off, pack up the Mercury and hit the road with your sails set towards California. That's how wine should be.

We stumbled upon something incredible last harvest when after running out of space, our winemaking team was forced to pack an excessive amount of Dry Creek Zinfandel into a somewhat small tank. Honestly, we weren't quite sure how it would turn out, but f*ck it, you know? After only a couple weeks, we tasted our experiment and were absolutely blown away by its deliciously bright aromas and flavors. It was young, but it was absolutely awesome, so we decided to roll with it.

Bottled with minimal aging, this 2017 Zinfandel is truly exuberant. With bright cherry and cranberry aromas, fresh raspberry flavors and integrated notes of vanilla and brown sugar. While many wines celebrate the nuances of age, this is a wine that captures the freshness and flavor of youth. We like it so much, in fact, that we're going to do it again, using a technique our team has dubbed "inverse saignée."

To convey that feeling of being young, wild and free, we've emblazoned the bottle with a distorted 1960s photo of a woman next to her prized Marauder.
