Vals Go Home is an ultra-limited blend made available exclusively at our Industry Party on September 12, 2018. For that reason, it's one of the rarest Tank creations ever bottled. If you have one, you're very lucky.
Sprinkled up and down the California coastline are several highly-treasured, fiercely-guarded "locals only" surf spots. You've probably heard of 'em: Silver Strand, Lunada Bay and Malibu, to name of few. These are the type of places where if the locals don't recognize you, you'll leave with slashed tires and a black eye. During the '60s through the '80s, those that dared encroach on the local territory would be greeted with foreboding graffiti exclaiming "LOCALS ONLY" and, of course, "VALS GO HOME." You see, the Los Angeles surf spots, belonged to Angelenos, and not the outcast kids from the San Fernando Valley suburbs that bussed in to catch some waves.
But check this, we got our own Vals up here in Napa Valley. And instead of hopping a bus to go surf Venice pier, our Vals are immersed in viticulture, winemaking and hospitality. Our Vals are badass! So given that we were throwing an industry-only shindig, we thought we'd play up on the whole Vals Go Home surf lore from yesteryear.
This wine is just rad. It's a Napa Valley blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Cab Franc. It's oozing with classic Valley blackberry, cherry and fresh leather flavors and perfectly-integrated tannins. We knew we had to go all out to impress the wine biz folks, and our winemaking team nailed this one. Oh, and shout out to our marketing team for hand-waxing these suckers.
