Jimmy wasn’t a bad man, just ambitious. This was one of the first wines we ever made and bears the real 1929 mugshot of a prohibition-era bootlegger from California. He was small time, but his photograph left an impression.
The Russian River Valley is a perfect climate for Pinot Noir. This region’s climate is sculpted by the regular intrusion of cooling fog from the Pacific Ocean a few miles to the west. This natural air-conditioning allows the grapes to develop full flavor maturity over an extended growing season. With that, we’ve locked up velvety wild strawberry, black raspberry, cola and blueberry.
And that's a life sentence.
