Every town has a boss. Meet Johnny Oro, Hero of the West.
Grown, produced and bottled way out west in California, but made primarily (72%) with the numero uno grape in all of Spain - Tempranillo. This wine inspired us to go back to the good old days when Spaghetti Western films were at their peak. Set in the American West, filmed in Spain, and directed by Italian directors (on tight budgets), these films are pure magic, not unlike this burst of a red blend.
While our Spaghetti Western wine might not come to life in a motion picture – the flavors are sure to create a vision on your palate. Tempranillo, Syrah, and Mourvedre prove to be a match made in heaven, which sometimes looks a lot like Calistoga, CA. Sweet red raspberry on the nose, with hints of tobacco and rich leather, bravely followed by a juicy palate full of red fruits, white pepper, and a little bit of brown sugar.
Rode off into the sunset.
