For this wine we needed a label that screamed “Ink” so we turned to famed tattoo artist and painter, Shawn Barber. Shawn’s body of work focuses primarily on painting, portraiture, and documenting contemporary tattoo culture. Barber’s intimate renditions of tattooed individuals balance both meticulous brush strokes and loose energy. Figurative in nature, these large paintings take on abstractions with explosive colors, meandering lines and paint dripping down the canvas. The name of Shawn’s art on our label is: Hard Work Hands 1
Rubired is a (hybrid) vitis vinifera grape developed at UC-Davis in the 1950s. The variety is a crossing of Tinto Cao (a Portuguese native variety) and Alicante Ganzin and the result is an immensely dark and concentrated red blending wine. We know because we've worked with this beast before. Here we blended it together with Petite Sirah in a sick and twisted effort to make the biggest, darkest, inkiest wine known to all man.
Don't worry, we got other Shawn Barber stuff.
